Chrysler Building

The Chrysler Building is an Art Deco skyscraper in New York. Standing at 319 metres, it was briefly the world's tallest building before it was surpassed by the Empire State Building in 1931. The building is constructed of masonry, with a steel frame, and metal cladding. The distinctive ornamentation is based on features that were being used on Chrysler automobiles. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1976.
